Η Χανα Χοχ (1/11/1889 – 31/5/1978) ήταν καλλιτέχνης της αισθητικής αναρχίας ή όπως έγινε γνωστό διαφορετικά το κίνημα του ντανταϊσμού. την εποχή της Βαϊμάρης (του μεσοπολέμου), όταν ήταν ένας από τους πρώτους δημιουργούς του φωτομοντάζ.

Το φωτομοντάζ είναι ένας τύπος κολάζ στον οποίο τα επικολλημένα αντικείμενα είναι πραγματικές φωτογραφίες ή φωτογραφικές αναπαραγωγές από τον τύπο και άλλα μέσα.

Η Χάνα Χοχ σπούδασε εφαρμοσμένες τέχνες στο Βερολίνο και εντάχθηκε στο καλλιτεχνικό ρεύμα του Ντανταϊσμού με τις ευλογίες του συντρόφου της Ραούλ Χάουσμαν, ενός αυστριακού εικαστικού καλλιτέχνη με πρωταρχικό ρόλο στο κίνημα αυτό, που γεννήθηκε κατά την διάρκεια του Α’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου ως αντίδραση στις αρχές και τις αξίες των τότε ευρωπαϊκών κοινωνιών.

Συγκεκριμένα η Χάνα Χοχ, είναι γνωστή για το έργο της την εποχή της Βαϊμάρης (έτσι ονομάζεται η εποχή του Μεσοπολέμου), όταν ήταν ένας από τους πρώτους δημιουργούς του φωτομοντάζ. Το φωτομοντάζ είναι ένας τύπος κολάζ στον οποίο τα επικολλημένα αντικείμενα είναι πραγματικές φωτογραφίες ή φωτογραφικές αναπαραγωγές από τον τύπο και άλλα μέσα.

Ο ντανταϊσμός είναι ένα καλλιτεχνικό κίνημα που δημιουργήθηκε το 1919 στη Ζυρίχη της Ελβετίας. Το κίνημα απέρριψε τη μοναρχία, τον μιλιταρισμό και τον συντηρητισμό και μπήκε σε ένα «αντι-καλλιτεχνικό» συναίσθημα. Οι ντανταϊστές θεώρησαν ότι η τέχνη δεν πρέπει να έχει όρια ή περιορισμούς και ότι μπορεί να είναι φαντασιώδης και παιχνιδιάρικη.

#birth ,1924, #expressionist #artist #hannahhöch there is something disturbing in most of hannah höch’s paintings; here, dark colours and the baby’s turning away from the mother indicate that something is wrong; hannah höch never had a child, but was forced to have two abortions as society of that time did not allow unmarried women to have children; at the same time, the German republic (founded in the aftermath of #ww1) granted women additional civil rights such as the right to vote. In later paintings, Hannah Höch showed that women must not be reduced to being a mother. However, the more open-minded, liberal society of the #1920ies was soon to be replaced by the fasicst nazi regim. Nowadays, especially when discussing politics in the Middle East and the so called refugee crisis in Europe, we tend to judge other societies by arguing that they do not treat and regard women as equal to men. However, we tend to forget that in Germany, the fight for equality did just started a few decades ago and much has still to be accomplished and fought for in our own society. #art #equality #germanischesnationalmuseum
