Το φετινό My Style Rocks ξεκίνησε δυναμικά φέτος με τους Λάκη Γαβαλά, Έλενα Χριστοπούλου και Στέλιο Κουδουνάρη στην θέση της κριτικής επιτροπής. Έτσι, πλέον γνωρίζουμε τα κορίτσια που διεκδικούν τον τίτλο της πιο καλοντυμένης παίκτριας του παιχνιδιού.

Μία από τις πρώτες παίκτριες που ανακοινώθηκαν λοιπόν, είναι και η Κρίστεν Λεωτσάκου, η οποία έχει προκαλέσει εντύπωση με τις απόψεις και τον οικολογικό τρόπο ζωής της.

@fash_rev sent me their 2020 calendar and as you can tell, I made the most of it. Why am I French? No idea. Why am I wearing sunglasses indoors? No clue. Why does fast fashion still exist? It’s a mystery. What I do know is I’ll be using this calendar to write down the goals I have in order to help make ethical fashion more popular than ever and to also take note of everything I want to improve on (sustainability wise) for the new year. Some of my fashion resolutions for 2020 include: – Repairing my damaged clothes so I can wear them again. – DIYing my old unwanted clothes. – Making ethical fashion more mainstream in my country through my Greek youtube channel. – Organizing clothing swap meetups. – Writing a book!? How are you planning on upping your sustainability game in 2020? I need more ideas!

Ποια είναι όμως η Κρίστεν Λεωτσάκου;

1. 1. Η Κρίστεν γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στην Αθήνα και είναι 28 ετών.
   2. Η μητέρα της κατάγεται από τα νησιά Αζόρες και ο πατέρας της είναι Έλληνας.
   3. Και οι δυο γιαγιάδες της ήταν μοδίστρες παίρνοντας τα πρώτα ερεθίσματα σχετικά με τη μόδα από αυτές.
   4. Από μικρή ηλικία θυμάται να λέει ότι θέλει να γίνει σχεδιάστρια μόδας.
   5. Για αυτό το λόγο ασχολήθηκε με το fashion blogging.
   6. Είναι ένθερμη υπέρμαχος της οικολογίας.
   7. Από το 2014 είναι vegan και υποστηρίζει το zero waste living.
   8. Για το λόγο αυτό έχει ανοίξει κανάλια στο YouTube που αριθμούν πάνω από 300.000 subscribers.
   9. Είναι οπαδός της «θετικής μόδας», ντύνεται δηλαδή αποκλειστικά με μεταχειρισμένα ρούχα ή ρούχα που έχουν φτιαχτεί από οικολογικά υλικά.
   10. Δήλωσε συμμετοχή στο «Μy Style Rocks» για να αποδείξει ότι μια γυναίκα μπορεί να έχει τέλειο στιλ, φορώντας ρούχα second hand.

“Stealing your drinks since 2006” Btw, on Saturday I’ll be at the @conscious_loft event! If you’re in Hamburg on November 2nd I’d love to see you there! I’ll be speaking on two panel discussions, one on greenwashing and one on veganism, cool stuff! Also, I won’t be flying anywhere else this year so I’m still within my yearly CO2 emissions. ☺️? After taking the @globalfootprintnetwork quiz I became much more aware of the negative environmental impact of flying and even though I hate the idea that flying is bad for the planet: KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. I’m not sad I don’t fly as much anymore, instead I’m excited about creating less CO2 emissions, lowering my negative environmental impact and also saving money. I’ve learned to not only prefer traveling locally but it’s also pushed me to creating a life I don’t feel the need to escape from with a vacation to an “exotic” destination. It’s important to point out that as a person that has always loved traveling, it’s taken me a couple of years to adjust to the idea of reducing my travels and I don’t expect you reading this to be immediately warm to the idea either. Also, traveling is a major privilege and as they say: “with great privilege comes great responsibility” wait, nobody says that? Well, they should. ? by @ethicalandeasy

What kind of Charlie’s angels spin off is this? Seriously though, imagine a tv show with three complex female leads that instead of being a male fantasy shooting guns in stilettos they’re fighting for climate justice, human and animal rights, but it’s also a comedy. It’ll be like Charlie’s angels meets Mr. Robot, meets FRIENDS. Here’s the best part, the Charlie character is Greta Thunberg, that’s right @gretathunberg famous teenage genius/activist! There’s an episode where they free a bunch of mink from a fur farm. An episode where they get into a huge keyboard battle with fast fashion youtube haulers and an episode where one of the angels eats honey and they fight between themselves about whether she’s still vegan or not. It’ll be original, entertaining and will subliminally educate the audience on politics, human rights and environmental issues and also show how the characters take action in their daily lives to stand for their values. Final day of @fash_rev week, I thrifted this top a few weeks ago so I’d like to know @mango #whomademyclothes ? To everyone that has messaged me asking if your favorite brand’s clothing is ethically made or not, go on their instagram page, look at their latest photos, are they taking part in Fashion Revolution week? Are they sharing photos of their workers? Photos of their factories? If not, what are they hiding? In Bangladesh garment workers earn approximately £25 per month, while a fair living wage is estimated at £45 Let’s play a little math game now. @hm is in the top 10 largest apparel companies globally. Their suppliers employ 1.6 million textile workers. Also, @hm made £1 billion pounds in profit in 2018 If all textile workers were from Bangladesh, how much extra would it cost annually for @hm to pay their workers a fair living wage (£45)? Answer: £384 million Sounds like a lot of money, but for a company making one billion pounds in profits is it really that much? For only £384 million, 1.6 million people that were previously living way below the poverty line would now be earning a fair living wage. This is the greed of the fashion industry. Not only @hm but also Inditex which includes @zara @oysho @pullandbear @stradivarius @bershkacollection @massimodutti @uterqueofficial also @adidas @nike @forever21 @dior @victoriassecret @calvinklein @mango @topshop @boohoo @zaful @sheinofficial @uniqlo @urbanoutfitters @asos @primark and SO MANY MORE. They use what I can only describe as slave labor to maximize their profits and they are totally comfortable with selling clothes made by workers (mostly women) earning £25 a month, working 14-16 hours a day. I’m not comfortable supporting these businesses and to be honest, neither should anyone else.
