Ιnsta-Stalking #8: 50 αποχρώσεις του μπλε!

 

Σε αυτό το insta-stalking ακολουθούμε ένα λογαριασμό στο Instagram που μας δείχνει κυριολεκτικά τις 50 αποχρώσεις του μπλε!

Αυτός δεν είναι άλλος από τον @greatbarrierreefqld

Ουσιαστικά πρόκειται για έναν λογαριασμό που μας μεταφέρει εικόνες από τον μεγαλύτερο κοραλλιογενή ύφαλλο του κόσμου που βρίσκεται στην Αυστραλία.

Απαρτίζεται από 2.900 ξεχωριστούς υφάλους και 940 νησιά, και εκτείνεται σε μήκος μεγαλύτερο των 2.600 χιλιόμετρων σε μία θαλάσσια περιοχή έκτασης περίπου 344.400 τετραγωνικών χιλιομέτρων. Ο ύφαλος βρίσκεται στη Θάλασσα των Κοραλλίων, έξω από τις ακτές του Κουίνσλαντ της βορειοανατολικής Αυστραλίας.

Ο Μεγάλος Κοραλλιογενής Ύφαλος είναι ορατός και από το διάστημα! Αποτελείται και σχηματίζεται από δισεκατομμύρια μικροσκοπικούς οργανισμούς, τα Κοράλλια, ένα είδος πολύποδων. Ο ύφαλος είναι σημαντική πηγή βιοποικιλότητας και αποτελεί από το 1981 Μνημείο Παγκόσμιας Κληρονομιάς της UNESCO.
