Waiting for Godot is the first production at the Theatre of The No, a brand new English-speaking theatre in the centre of Athens.
From Thursday 18 April for 4 weeks.

Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett is justifiably iconic, a masterpiece of modern existential theatre that explores profound themes with both language and silence, moments of comedy, deep insights and characters that have become as archetypal in theatre as Hamlet, Oedipus and Willie Loman.
This brave production brings new energy and innovation to the classic piece that has forever changed the face of theatre. A brilliant international cast comprising David Gilliam, Vassia Vassiliou, George Housakos, Anastasia Booyaca and Sebastian Puentes, directed by visionary Nikos Dionysios, offer a fittingly bold and exciting launch for this new theatre.
Voted "The most important 20th-century play in the English language", and guaranteed to be at the top of every list of the best plays ever written, #39;Waiting For Godot#39; at the Theatre of the NO is is a Must-See event in the city where Western theatre was born.
Running every Thursday through Monday from 18 April for 4 weeks.

Director Nikos Dionysis describes the play as “a journey of self-discovery that navigates the depths of human experience through timeless characters, between movement and stillness, sound and silence, waiting and anticipation, nothing and everything … a story told through two loners, who depend on each other by waiting for something that does not come, and two others who are connected through the authority of the ruled and a child.”

The Theatre of the NO is a brand new English-speaking theatre opening April 2024 in the centre of Athens. We are proud to feature both international artists, famous figures and emerging talents in Greek theatre and culture in our opening productions. The theatre will bring new plays, new writers and creators from Greece and around the World to the stage, along with classics of Modernist, Absurdist and Experimental Theatre. We will also offer Music, Poetry and Performance Art, and a welcoming centre for the artistic community of Athens.
