Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett is justifiably iconic, a masterpiece of modern existential theatre that explores profound themes with both language and silence, moments of comedy, deep insights and characters that have become as archetypal in theatre as Hamlet, Oedipus and Willie Loman.
This brave production brings new energy and innovation to the classic piece that has forever changed the face of theatre. A brilliant international cast comprising David Gilliam, Vassia Vassiliou, George Housakos, Anastasia Booyaca and Sebastian Puentes, directed by visionary Nikos Dionysios, offer a fittingly bold and exciting launch for this new theatre.
Voted "The most important 20th-century play in the English language", and guaranteed to be at the top of every list of the best plays ever written, #39;Waiting For Godot#39; at the Theatre of the NO is is a Must-See event in the city where Western theatre was born.
Running every Thursday through Monday from 18 April for 4 weeks.
Director Nikos Dionysis describes the play as “a journey of self-discovery that navigates the depths of human experience through timeless characters, between movement and stillness, sound and silence, waiting and anticipation, nothing and everything … a story told through two loners, who depend on each other by waiting for something that does not come, and two others who are connected through the authority of the ruled and a child.”
