20 years ago today “Scream”, directed by Wes Craven and starring Drew Barrymore, hit theaters around the USA. Originally titled “Scary Movie”, the script was written by Kevin Williamson. It was his first screenplay after taking several stabs at acting. Williamson would go on to create the TV series “Dawson’s Creek” and “The Following”. Meanwhile “Scream” would spawn three sequels, a TV series, and countless Halloween masks.
