This beautiful mountain is called Hestur, same word for that in english would be horse. It is located deep in Onundarfjordur in the Westfjords of Iceland. The Westfjords of Iceland have somehow not been defined as part of the circle road around Iceland and for me that is ridiculous. This part of Iceland is something no one, who is planning a trip to my country, should miss. Westfjords is the oldest part of Iceland with beautiful mountains, fjords, rivers, waterfalls and even glacier and amazing beaches. Glanni waterfall. Home of elves and trolls. A beautiful waterfall in Nordura (Norðurá) river wich is one of best salmon river in Iceland. A convenient walking path leads to Glanni, surrounded by beautiful landscape.
